The WBENC-Great Lakes is a regional counterpart to the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Today, WBENC is the nation's leading advocate of women's business enterprises. The WBENC-Great Lakes performs certification for Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) to ensure that an individual business is truly woman-owned.
The Women's Business Enterprise National Council-Great Lakes is a program of the Center for Empowerment and Economic Development (CEED), an SBA Women's Business Center located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. CEED provides training, development, small business loans, networking events for WBEs.

The NMSDC was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes. The regional councils certify and match more than 15,000 minority owned businesses (Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American) with member corporations which want to purchase goods and services.

NaVOBA unites current and future veteran-owned businesses by acting as the national voice for the veteran business movement.
